With two decades of experience in the music industry, Max Taylor has gained quite a notable reputation for his bass playing skills and backing vocals. He decided to start a solo career in 2020 and he released his first EP with the label state51, before coming up with a full album he titled "Debut Album" under the pseudonym of Creepy Neighbour.
Not content to rest on his laurels, Taylor is always building towards the next release, adding more matter to his repertoire: he announced he will be releasing new materials around March 2023. It will be a new type of artistic work since the 8 songs will be released once a month, one after the other, in order to tell the story of a journey to finding one's true identity.
HOW IT BEGAN
Max Taylor began his musical career after leaving school and joining forces with a drummer called Jamie Morrison. Together they paraded around London in a smashed up van, playing in as many different bands and outfits that you could possibly fit into a day. After a couple years of this he joined synthpop band Clor and quickly signed to Parlophone Records. They toured across Europe for a year and half, eventually crashing and splitting up not long after performing at the first Ibiza Rocks festival. Clor's only album now sits happily at no.1 in the NME’s 100 greatest albums you’ve never heard of chart.
Since the Clor split, Taylor went on to work with a number of different artists playing bass and backing vocals for live shows and also featuring on their records. Artists worked with include Roots Manuva, Tom Vek, CocknBullKid, Foxes, Groove Armada, Lily Allen, Melanie C, Rae Morris, The Plump DJ’s, The Dholl Foundation, Tom Robinson, Alex Metric and Fryars.
In 2023, Taylor is releasing new music in a whole new way, since each of the 8 songs from the new batch of materials, will be released one after the other, once every month. This new music will be like a series telling journey to finding one's true self. A more mature second opus that marks an important step for the artist.
In 2011, Max started working and touring with international americano-lebanese pospstar MIKA throughout the world; and then released his first own materials during the pandemic in 2020, under the alias of Creepy Neighbour. His first album (2021), now available on his artist's page on streaming platforms, was titled "Debut Album" and is the reflection of years of writing and composing in between tours.
